On April 12, the University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Medicine \u2013 University of Nineveh held an awareness-raising lecture titled:\n\u201cThe Sanctity of Blood in Religions\u2026 A Comprehensive Perspective on Promoting a Culture of Peace and Tolerance\u201d\nUnder the slogan:\n\u201cThe Sanctity of Blood Between Legislation and Ethics\u201d\nThe lecture was delivered by Ms. Reem Salem Mutaib, head of the University\u2019s Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence Unit. She addressed the concept of the sanctity of blood in all Abrahamic religions, explained Iraqi law\u2019s stance on criminalizing murder, and highlighted societal responsibilities in spreading a culture of tolerance and promoting the values of peace.\nThe lecture saw a large turnout and significant engagement from the audience, through discussions and questions, particularly regarding legal and social aspects.\nThis event is part of the Psychological Counseling Unit\u2019s efforts to provide awareness programs that serve students and staff and promote community awareness.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
