The College of Medicine at the University of Nineveh works to encourage sound scientific publishing by motivating faculty and students to participate in peer-reviewed medical journals. This publication is the result of well-thought-out research plans and specialized academic supervision, enhancing the college's position as a distinguished research center at the local and international levels.

The college places great importance on final-year research projects, as these represent an important milestone in honing students' research skills. Project topics are carefully selected to address local health realities and contribute to finding practical solutions to common problems. Students are also supported by specialized academic supervisors and provided with access to data and laboratories, enhancing the quality of projects and contributing to the transformation of some into publishable research.

The college seeks to enhance its academic role by supporting academic journals and publishing peer-reviewed research. It is currently working on establishing a medical journal published by the college, which aims to serve as a platform for researchers from inside and outside Iraq. The college also encourages faculty members to publish in reputable scientific journals indexed in Scopus and PubMed, and offers workshops and training courses in academic publishing.

The college has honored a number of distinguished researchers who have presented high-quality research and contributed to the advancement of medical knowledge, whether through their participation in local conferences or through receiving prestigious scientific awards.
