Mission

The duties of the Registration and Student Affairs Division encompass all aspects related to students, both technical and administrative. These responsibilities begin with student admission to the university and extend through graduation. The department is responsible for continuous monitoring and coordination among colleges, directing these efforts in accordance with the university's overall goals and community development requirements.

Objectives

Implementing laws, regulations, and controls pertaining to both full-time and graduate students, and interacting positively with students and professors to organize the educational process by registering students, announcing class schedules, and creating a student database.

Instructions for new students

The Registration Department is one of the college's most important departments, handling all student-related matters throughout their academic journey, from enrollment to graduation. The department includes two units: the Registration Department, which monitors continuing students, and the Documents Department, which monitors graduates and provides them with the necessary textbooks and academic documents.

Documents and mechanism

Required documents include: a certified preparatory school certificate, a medical examination, a color copy of the citizenship certificate, a color copy of the civil status ID, a color copy of the residency card, a letter of support for the children of martyrs, and three color photos. Procedure: The student visits the college with the required documents after his name is confirmed on the admission lists. He receives a registration receipt, fills out the forms, reviews them, and then meets with the Director of the Registration Department. Registration must be completed within two weeks of the issuance of the lists, otherwise the admission will be cancelled.

  • Medical examination report from specialized medical committees
  • Iraqi nationality certificate + colored copy
  • Civil status ID + colored copy
  • Residence card + colored copy
  • Confirmation letter from the Martyrs Foundation (for families of martyrs)
  • 3 colored personal photos

Registration Steps

  1. Receive registration receipt from the Accounts Division
  2. Get registration forms from the Student Reception Committee
  3. Fill out forms and attach required documents
  4. Get signature from the Registration Director and attend the interview
  5. Complete registration within two weeks from the admission announcement

Student ID

يتم تزويد الطالب بهوية في الأيام الأولى من دراسته لاستخدامها داخل وخارج الحرم الجامعي، وتكون سارية لعامين دراسيين، ثم تستبدل لحين التخرج.

Confirmation Letter

كتاب رسمي يصدر من الكلية يؤكد استمرار الطالب في الدراسة، ويتم طلبه عبر معاون العميد للشؤون الإدارية والطلبة. يُستخدم أيضًا للسماح بدخول الحرم الجامعي لحين صدور الهوية.

Inter-college Transfer

Transfers are regulated according to annual ministerial regulations, including re-nomination for students unable to continue their studies, and transfers between departments in similar colleges based on student capacity.

Attendance and Absence

Students are required to attend 90% of the class hours. Unexcused absences exceeding 10% or 15% with an official excuse will result in failure of the course.

Dormitories

The dormitories are managed by the University of Mosul's Dormitory Directorate, and students from outside Mosul must register with a letter of approval from the Registration Department.

Extracurricular Activities

The Student Activities Unit organizes sports competitions, recreational and scientific trips, and exhibitions to showcase student projects.

Educational and Academic Guidance System

Educational advisors are assigned from among the professors at each academic level to support students and overcome social and academic problems.

Exam Instructions No. (134) of 2000

These include determining the grades for the endeavour (30-50%), the confidentiality of the final exams, the duration of study (15 weeks for the semester and 30 weeks for the annual), and the conditions for success (50% minimum).

  • Minimum passing grade is 50% for each subject.
  • Final exams are confidential.
  • A student who fails half or less of the subjects is allowed to take the second round exams.
  • Cheating leads to failure in all subjects.
Student Discipline Instructions No. (160) of 2007

Students are required to abide by the rules, respect the administration and faculty, avoid harming national unity, and preserve university property. Penalties include:

  • Warning: Not adhering to the uniform or insulting fellow students.
  • Warning: For disrupting order or assaulting university staff.
  • Chapter: Assault, fraud, or harm to national unity.
Graduation Requirements

The student is awarded a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree after completing six years of study, including clinical training in the final year and comprehensive examinations (written, OSCE, and oral). The cumulative GPA is calculated as follows:

  • First year: 5%
  • Second year: 5%
  • Third year: 5%
  • Fourth year: 20%
  • Fifth year: 25%
  • Sixth year: 40%

Documents required to confirm graduation:

  • Request for endorsement.
  • Personal photo with white background.
  • Arrived from the Finance Department.

Documents required for graduation certificate:

  • Guarantee (for the first time).
  • Request document.
  • Arrived from the Finance Department.
  • Personal photo with white background.
  • A copy of the passport.

Documents are certified inside or outside Iraq according to the graduate's request.

Support for Students with Special Needs

Complete the Student Support Form for Special Needs and submit it with supporting documents to the Academic Counseling and Psychological Counseling Unit.
