The College of Medicine at the University of Nineveh held an awareness lecture on emergency and disaster preparedness on Thursday, April 16, 2026. The lecture was presented by Ms. Heba Khalid Hatem, a faculty member in the Department of Medical Physiology and a member of the International Accreditation Committee – Educational Resources Division, in collaboration with Mr. Musab Muhammad Tahir, head of the Civil Defense Unit. The lecture addressed the most common types of emergencies, including fires, earthquakes, medical emergencies, storms, and floods, as well as the risks of chemical spills and biological hazards, while reviewing evacuation procedures, basic safety measures, and the role of the crisis management team. The event aimed to raise awareness and enhance the preparedness of students and faculty to handle various emergency situations, thereby contributing to a safe university environment.
