In a research achievement that reflects the advanced academic standing of the College of Medicine at the University of Nineveh, a research team composed of faculty members from the college has published a rigorous scientific study in a prestigious international journal ranked in the first quartile (Q1), examining the effect of a microgravity environment on cancer cells
The study was titled:
Investigating Microgravity’s Role in Morphological Changes, Growth Behavior, DNA Damage, and Cytotoxic Responses of AMJ13 Breast Cancer Cells
Led by Assistant Professor Dr. Momen Junaid Al-Dabouni, Dean of the College of Medicine, and with the participation of: 🔹 Dr. Qasim Al-Naimi 🔹 Dr. Abeer Wali Ahmed 🔹 Dr. Muhammad Al-Ta'i 🔹 Dr. Saif Al-Din Al-Ta'i
In collaboration with international researchers from China and a number of researchers from Iraqi universities.
The study was published in the journal *Life Sciences in Space Research*, published by the global publisher Elsevier, and is indexed in Scopus and Clarivate and classified as Q1. It examined the effect of a microgravity environment on morphological changes, growth behavior, DNA damage, and toxicological responses in breast cancer cells.
This achievement represents a significant addition to the research record of the College of Medicine and the University of Nineveh, and underscores their continued active presence in the fields of global scientific research and their contribution to the production of scientific knowledge with international impact
