As part of scientific and academic cooperation and the exchange of expertise among Iraqi universities, Assistant Professor Dr. Tamader Abbas Hamoudi, a faculty member at the College of Medicine—University of Nineveh, chaired a committee to discuss a master’s thesis in the Department of Chemistry / College of Education for Girls—University of Mosul, on Thursday, September 10, 2026. The committee reviewed the master’s thesis titled: “Determination of Calcium Content in Local Commercial Milk and Assessment of Its Compliance with Standard Specifications” submitted by student Yusra Muhammad Armid. The study aimed to determine the calcium content in various samples of commercial and natural milk, assess their compliance with standard specifications, and compare a number of analytical methods used in the measurement. The study highlighted the importance of sample preparation and digestion methods for the accuracy of calcium determination, as well as the impact of certain chemical interferences on measurement results. It also included a statistical comparison of the methods used to evaluate their efficiency. Following an extensive scientific discussion and the student’s defense of her thesis, the thesis was approved and met the requirements for the award of a master’s degree. At the conclusion of the defense, the Dean’s Office of the College of Education for Girls at the University of Mosul presented Assistant Professor Dr. Tamader Abbas Hamoudi with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of her scholarly efforts and her role as co-chair of the defense committee. This participation underscores the academic presence of faculty members at the College of Medicine—University of Nineveh and their role in supporting graduate studies and strengthening academic cooperation among Iraqi universities.
