Islam and Its Role in Building Society On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Medicine – University of Nineveh organized an awareness-raising event that included a lecture titled: “Women in Islam and Their Role in Building Society (The Path of the Muslim Family),” delivered by Dr. Sari Abi Al-Dewah Ji, in the presence of a number of faculty members and students. The lecture addressed the pivotal role women play in building the family and society, the importance of empowering them academically and socially in accordance with Islamic values, and highlighted women’s contributions in various areas of life and their role in shaping the future of generations. The event saw active engagement from the audience through discussions and questions, which underscored the importance of such events in raising community awareness and highlighting women’s pioneering role in development and family building. This event is part of a series of activities that the college is keen to organize to support cultural and social awareness and to strengthen the role of women in the academic and social spheres.
