Titled “The Effect of Cholecalciferol and Phylloquinin on the Virulence of Staphylococcus aureus Causing Burn Infections,” the thesis was presented by student Zahra Ahmed Mahmoud on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in the seminar room of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. This study aimed to evaluate the anti-virulence effects of the vitamins cholecalciferol and phylloquinone, both individually and in combination, against Staphylococcus aureus isolates obtained from swabs of inflamed burn pus, in order to identify therapeutic strategies that target virulence without directly affecting bacterial growth . The results showed that all treatments led to inhibition of biofilm formation, staphaloxanthin, and protease activity compared to the control treatment. Vitamins D3 and K1 significantly enhanced the phagocytic activity against these bacteria, while the combined D3+K1 treatment exhibited the lowest phagocytic activity compared to the control.
