Amid a large gathering of academics and medical professionals, the Silver Jubilee celebration for the College of Medicine – University of Nineveh, marking the 25th anniversary of the college’s founding (2001–2026). The event was attended by academic leaders and dignitaries, deans of medical and other colleges, hospital directors, physicians, former deans, faculty members, staff, alumni, and students of the college. The ceremony began with a film about the city of Mosul, followed by a welcome to the attendees, a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of the righteous martyrs. This was followed by official speeches that reflected on the college’s history, highlighted key milestones in its journey, and presented the audience with a vision for the years beyond its 25th anniversary. The ceremony featured speeches by Assistant Professor Dr. Mu’min Junaid al-Dabouni, Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Nineveh; Professor Dr. Osama Ismail al-Mashhadani, President of the University of Nineveh; Professor Dr. Yusra Abdulrahman Mahmoud, Chair of the National Council for the Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq; as well as Prof. Dr. Amin Abdul-Hassan Mana Al-Alwani, Chair of the Committee of Deans of Medical Schools in Iraq and Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, alongside a speech by Prof. Dr. Muzahim Al-Khayyat, former President of the University of Nineveh. The ceremony featured documentary films that took the audience on a journey through the history and legacy of medicine in Nineveh, along with segments honoring and paying tribute to those who contributed to building the college’s legacy and serving its generations. On this day, the speakers did not speak only of the past 25 years… but of the generations that laid the foundation, those who carried the torch, and the generation preparing to shape the next 25 years. 2001–2026 | 25 years of impact… and the future still lies ahead.
